The Nith Board considers it important to educate the general public about the resource i.e. Salmon and Sea trout, that they are statutorily responsible for.  In particular the Board dedicates resources to school aged children and provides opportunities for field trips.  These trips involve hatchery visits, restocking, electrofishing and the incubation of salmon/sea trout eggs in the classroom situation.  This education initiative is designed to increase environmental awareness and raise the profile of salmon and sea trout.
